Wyldstyle attacked Trzaskowski and the government.

At the end of the first half, banners with political and social themes were hung on Żyleta. They hung for over 20 minutes. The content of the banners attacked Rafał Trzaskowski and the government of Donald Tusk (current and previous), concerned the last decision of the president of the capital and PO’s foreign policy. In addition, anti-Russian slogans appeared and were chanted during the meeting.

Fans at matches in Poland have often expressed their political views using banners. The most ardent fans of clubs in our country largely support right-wing parties and politicians who profess nationalist values and demonstrate attachment to the Catholic religion. It is no different in the case of Żyleta.

Wyldstyle attacks Trzaskowski and the current government

It was the last minutes of the first half when three small green banners were hung on Żyleta, with eloquent slogans written on them in black marker. The following slogans appeared first:

“Fuck the Russians and Putin and Bandera, you motherfucker! Maksiu, hold on” and “Platform, you trash, have you forgotten about your ‘reset’?”

The first one, vulgarly attacking Russians and condemning Vladimir Putin’s regime and propaganda . Anti-Russian sentiments among Poles intensified after Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. When Legia fans chanted “Fuck the Russians and Putin!”, they were echoed by the visitors from Lubin who sat in the guests’ sector.

Żyleta members consider themselves great patriots for whom history is important, which is why they like to criticize and insult Stepan Bandera. He was a Ukrainian politician with extremely nationalist views, similar to fascism. Recognized as a terrorist, the main responsible for the genocide of Poles in Volhynia.

The slogan “Maksiu, hold on” was addressed to Maksymilian K., pseudonym. “Little baby”. A promising MMA fighter ,  a Legia supporter , was arrested in connection with the beating of Leonid Volkov, an associate of Alexei Navalny, in Vilnius . Investigators did not rule out that K. could have acted on behalf of the Russian services. He pleaded not guilty.

The second banner attacked the current government of Donald Tusk, which has recently been warning about the threat posed by Putin’s Russia. When mentioning the “reset”, they had in mind Polish-Russian relations during Tusk’s previous government. The United Right government, which stepped down last year, regularly pointed out the desire to normalize Poland’s relations with Russia several years ago and Putin’s visit to our country, considering them a deliberate act to the detriment of the Polish state.

The third banner had the slogan “Trzaskowski, hands off the cross.” This is a negative comment on the recent decision of Rafał Trzaskowski, who signed an ordinance regarding standards of equal treatment in the capital city hall. The document mentions, among others: not displaying religious symbols on employees’ desks and walls in corridors or offices.

The banners were hanging throughout the break and were removed in the first minutes of the second half of the match against Zagłębie Lubin .
